Poznań Basketball Games 2024 

2nd edition of International Basketball Tournament for Youth  13-15/09/2024 and 20-22/09/2024

1.TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER
The tournament is organized by the Basketball Friends Association. Ul. Karpia 17/105, 61-619 Poznań, Poland.

2.TOURNAMENT 

 a)The tournament for U12,U13, U15 starts on September 13, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

  The tournament for U12, U14, U16, U17 starts on September 20, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

 b)45 teams from 4 age groups are planned to participate.

 c)8 teams will participate in each group.

 d)The tournament will be held at the Poznań University of Technology, Piotrowo 4, 61-001 Poznań and additionally in 1 or two city halls located near the Poznań University of Technology campus. 

3.RECRUITMENT OF TEAMS FOR THE BOY’S CATEGORIES: 

 · U12 (born 2013 and younger),

 · U13 (born 2012 and younger),

 · U14 (born 2011 and younger),

 · U15 (born 2010 and younger),

 · U16 (born 2009 and younger),

 · U17 (born 2008 and younger), 

 a)The organizer reserves the right to cancel a category if there are not enough teams registered in that   category (8 teams).

 b)The organizer reserves the right to transfer the team to another category if necessary.

 c)The organizer reserves the right to select the teams that will play in the tournament or that will be   on the reserve list.

 d)The organizer will provide final information regarding the categories that will participate in the      tournament by April 15, 2024, after verifying the registrations and entry fee payments.

 e)If an age category does not participate in the tournament due to lack of the minimum required number of   teams, the organizer will refund the teams the entry fee within 7 days. 

4.PLAYER PARTICIPATION 

 a)Each player can play in one category in only one team during the entire tournament.

 b)Each participant is required to have a valid personal ID, valid school ID or valid passport.

 c)In case of doubts about a player’s age, the organizer may ask the participant to show aforementioned   document. If, verification shows, that the player is older than allowed in the given category in which   they are participating, the team loses the match – walkover (20:0).

 d)Only players with current accident insurance (personal or group) can participate in the tournament.

 e)Participants are obliged to behave accordingly during the competition with "athlete's ethics". In the   event of unsportsmanlike behavior of participants (players, trainer, guardian, accompanying persons)   the organizer has the right to exclude them from competitions.

 f)Competition participants are obliged to: strictly observe law, order, and safety rules at the event   venue (this applies to the entire facility - sports hall, corridor, locker rooms, place designated for  meals area, rooms, dormitories, etc.).

 g)The team supervisor is fully financially responsible for any damage caused by any member of their team.   Participants must immediately inform the organizer of any observed violations of law, order, and safety   regulations.

 h)During their stay at the event venue (applies to the entire facility – sports hall, corridor, locker   rooms, place designated for meal area, rooms, dormitories, etc.), all players of the respective teams   are under the care of the team supervisor, who is responsible for the members of their team.

 i)During the competition, participants immediately comply with the organizer's instructions, and the team   supervisor is responsible for any consequences resulting from non-compliance.

5.TEAM LIST 

 a)Each team must complete the team list containing the name and surname of the player and jersey number   (the list template will be provided by organizer in the organizational announcement), no later than 14   days before the start tournament.

 b)No additions to the list are allowed once the tournament has started.

 c) A team list can contain a maximum of 15 players, but a maximum of 14 players can be added to the     match squad in each category.

7.REFEREES
All referees are delegated by the Wielkopolski Związek Koszykówki (local basketball association registered under FIBA) 

8.PROTESTS 

 a)Any protest must be submitted in writing to the organizer (in the hall where the match was played no   later than 15 minutes after the end of the match, along with the protest fee. 

  b)The protest fee is PLN 250.

  c)The protest is considered by the main referee of the competition together with tournament organizer.

  d)The decision of the referee is final and cannot be contested.

  e)Protests cannot concern the decisions of field referees made during the match. 

9.INSURANCE 

 a)The organizer has civil liability insurance.

 b)Each player participates in the tournament at their own risk.

 c)Participants are not insured against accidents by the organizer. 

10. REGISTRATION

 a)Clubs can only register via the online from published on the website https://www.poznanbg.pl until      March 30, 2024.

 b)By registering online, the team confirms that has read the POZNAŃ BASKETBALL GAMES Regulations and the   GDPR Regulations and that all tournament participants in a given club agree to the terms and conditions   provided.

 c)At the same time, upon registration, all players who are on the tournament list of the team consent to:

 · The use of photos and videos taken during the tournament on social media and promotional materials      prepared and used by the Basketball Friends Association for promotion of the current and/or subsequent   editions of the tournament without time and territorial limitations.

 · The Processing of the aforementioned  data is in accordance with the Regulation of the European        Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with   regard to the processing of personal data and on free movement such data and repealing Directive         95/46/EC (General Regulation on data protection) – hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”.

 · All players have the right to: request access to their personal data, their rectification, deletion,     restriction of processing, objection to processing, as well as for data transfer.

 · There is a possibility of submitting a complaint to the President of the Personal Data Protection      Office.

 · Data will not be transferred to third countries or international organizations.

11. FEES 

 a)ENTRY FEE

 · The entry fee for the tournament is EUR 130 per team and must be paid no later than March 30, 2024.

 · Payment of the entry fee is equivalent to confirming participation in the tournament.

 · In case of withdrawal from the tournament, after prior registration of the team after May 15, 2024, the   entry fee is non-refundable.

 · If a team cancels its registration and thereby participation in the tournament later than May 31, 2024,   the entry fee is non-refundable, and the organizer may deduct part of the remaining tournament         participation costs from the tournament fee. 

12. ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING 

 a)Accommodation for the period of September 12 to 15 (2 or 3 nights) and September 19 to 22 (2 or 3    nights)

 b)Accommodation is located at the dormitories of Poznań University of Technology, Święta Rocha 11B, 61- 142 Poznań and in nearby hostel and hotels within walking distance from the hall.

 c)Meals are located at Poznań University of Technology canteen, operated by Biesiada catering company.

 d)The distance from the canteen to the court hall is 200m.

 e)A detailed menu will be sent to teams before the tournament.

 f)Packages:

 · 2-day package:

  o 2 nights

  o Meals: Friday (lunch, dinner), Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner), Sunday (breakfast)

 · 3-day package:

  o 3 nights

  o Meals: Thursday (dinner), Friday (breakfast, lunch, dinner), Saturday (breakfast, lunch, dinner),    Sunday (breakfast-lunch) 

13. DATES TO REMEMBER

 · March 30 – deadline for completion of registration form and payment of the "entry fee".

 · April 15 – Announcement of the age categories which will take part in the tournament, after           verification of applications and payments entry fee.

 · May 30 – Full payment due for the tournament.

 · August 30 – division of teams into groups will be published on the website www.poznanbg.pl

 · August 31 – Announcement of the match schedule will be published on the website www.poznanbg.pl/

 · September 12-19 – official arrival day, final team onboarding.

 · September 13 – Day 1 of the tournament – group matches (start at 8:30)

 · September 14 – second day of the tournament.

 · September 15 – 3rd day of the tournament

 · September 19-20 – official arrival day, final team onboarding.

 · September 20 – Day 1 of the tournament – group matches (start at 8:30)

 · September 21 – second day of the tournament.

 · September 22 – 3rd day of the tournament
